Lutheran Hospital’s 5D Unit cares for a variety of post-operative patients in the areas of orthopaedics, spine, neurology and bariatrics. Some procedures patients have undergone include total joint replacements, lumbar and/or cervical decompressions, fusions, and laminectomies. This unit also treats general med/surg patients and is capable of telemetry and ongoing cardiac monitoring. The exceptional care from the nursing team on this unit has led to a reputation for quick patient turnover and excellent patient education. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care, implementing and monitoring patient care plans, administering medication and treatments, assessing and coordinating patients’ discharge plans, and monitoring, recording and communicating patients’ condition. Full-time caregivers work a day/night rotation with shifts of 7:00AM – 7:30PM and 7:00PM – 7:30AM.
