JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Food Science Department in the College of Agricultural Sciences is looking for a part-time teaching assistant for Food Science 223 (Understanding Science Through Wine Beer and Bread). The ideal candidate will be available 8-20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling based on workload. The TA will work remotely and will be responsible for grading discussion posts and assignments. The TA will meet with the instructor online to review grading criteria and any questions that arise as well as communicate progress with the instructor.

Responsibilities include:

+ Grading discussion posts following a grading rubric provided by the instructor

+ Communicate feedback to students.

+ Provide status updates to the instructor

+ Perform other duties as assigned (ex: keep track of assignment extensions)

Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines remotely. Good communication skills are necessary. Experience with Canvas is preferred.
