**Overview**

**Nurse Practitioner Critical Care - Hospitalist Department**

**Night Time - 7a - 7p**

CHI Memorial Medical Group is offering an outstanding opportunity for a Night Time APP in the Critical Care Unit - Chattanooga, Tennessee.

**Job Summary / Purpose**

The Night Time Nurse Practitioner is responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician.

**Responsibilities**

**Essential Key Job Responsibilities**

+ Obtain medical histories when necessary.

+ Perform physical exams (within established protocol).

+ Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines).

+ Order diagnostic test.

+ Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines).

+ Provide preventive health screenings and immunizations for children and adults.

+ Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.

+ Assist the doctor with office surgeries.

+ Assure charts are signed off by the doctor within 7 days.

+ Maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality.

+ Make follow up calls to check patients progress.

+ Assist doctors with phone coverage and hospital rounds.

+ Work closely with other nurses to assure patient flow is efficient.

+ Consult with doctor regarding patient symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment.

+ Performs other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**

**Required Education and Experience**

Master's degree in nursing

3-5 years clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting required.

1-3 years previous experience as a NP in an acute or primary care setting or equivalent RN experience

**Required Licensure and Certifications**

Certified Nurse Practitioner in the state of TN/GA (APRN:TN/GA)

Licensed as an RN in the state of TN/GA (RN:TN/GA)

American Heart Association BLS (BLS-CPR)

**Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training**

* Effective Communication * Knowledge of the principles and skills of the nursing process to provide patient care and treatment. * Critical thinking skills * Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal * Basic Computer skills - familiarity with Windows based software programs

**Pay Range**

$56.97 - $75.29 /hour
