  • Provide nursing care in accordance with hospital and AORN, ASPAN, and SGNA standards.
  • Participate in patient teaching, incorporating the needs and behavior of the patient's specific age/cultural group in planning and providing care.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current CT RN License
  • ASN applicants with previous OR nursing experience are invited to apply
  • Recent BSN graduates will be enrolled in a Periop 101 orientation if hired
  • Previous OR nursing experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Independent problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred

  • CNOR certification

The OR Nurse functions as Circulator/Scrub Nurse in the Operating Room. Organizes and administers individualized, professional patient care to patients within the Operating Room. Provides nursing care in accordance with the objectives, policies, procedures and protocols of the hospital and AORN, ASPAN and SGNA standards. Participates in patient teaching; incorporates the needs and behavior of the patient’s specific age/cultural groups in planning and providing care. Participates in quality improvement activities.

• Current CT RN License
• Previous OR nursing experience required
• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Excellent communications skills
• CNOR a plus
