The Warehouse Management System (WMS) Implementation Manager at Great Lakes Cheese is responsible for the project planning and successful implementation of the new WMS across all Distribution Centers and Plant Warehouses within the Great Lakes Cheese National Network. Responsibilities

  • Lead Warehouse Management System (WMS) Implementation, including coordinating operational requirement standards for the Great Lakes Cheese (GLC) Network.
  • Work with IT, local warehouse and plant management, Quality Assurance, Safety, and implementation consultants to lead the WMS implementation at each GLC site.
  • Ensure the requirement standards are met by the project team through concept, testing, and go-live oversight.
  • Collaborate with local plant staff to manage change requirements and develop training programs.
  • Provide go-live hypercare support at site location until system and operation are stable.
  • Provide weekly updates on the status of the project and plans to address issues.
  • Conduct UAT, Training & Operational gap analysis, Functional transaction readiness review, and EWM Integration oversight.
  • Collaborate across functions to support optimum outcomes and initiate continuous improvement plans.
  • Manage and supervise the EWM team, including staffing, retention, and talent development.
  • Participate with the Management Team to develop, implement, and ensure adherence to GLC and Plant procedures.
  • Perform duties according to safety policies & procedures and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Produce products that exceed customer and consumer expectations by adhering to Safe Quality Food Program.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Industrial Engineering
  • 4 years of warehouse management system experience
  • 5 years of warehouse experience
  • In-depth understanding of inventory control and warehouse operations management
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF bar code driven operations
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Direct work experience in project management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Advanced computer skills

Preferred

  • SAP experience with WM or EWM
  • Food warehousing experience
  • PMP or similar project management certification
  • Temperature controlled warehouse experience
  • Production integrated warehouse experience
  • High volume and high inventory turn warehouse experience

Job Overview

The Warehouse Management System (WMS) Implementation Manager is responsible for the project planning and successful implementation of the new WMS implementation for all Distribution Centers and Plant Warehouses across the Great Lakes Cheese National Network.

Job Responsibilities

+ Lead Warehouse Management System (WMS) Implementation, including:

Required Education and Experience

+ Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or Industrial Engineer

+ 4 years of warehouse management system experience or more.

+ 5 years of warehouse experience or more.

+ Ability to provide leadership, support, communication and direction to project implementation team.

+ In depth understanding of inventory control and warehouse operations management.

+ Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve beyond routine issues.

+ Detailed experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and the use of a RF bar code driven operation.

+ Strong leadership skills by developing and communicating a clear vision, objectives and adherence to values that support a team based culture.

+ Direct work experience in project management

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office.

+ Advanced computer skills.

+ Travel is required. Estimate 50%-75% travel with extended stays at locations going through implementation.

Preferred Education and Experience

+ SAP experience with WM or EWM.

+ Food warehousing experience.

+ PMP or similar project management certification.

+ Temperature controlled warehouse experience.

+ Production integrated warehouse experience.

+ High volume and high inventory turn warehouse experience.

Working Conditions

- Work is mainly performed in an office setting, with some time spent in a manufacturing environment

- While the majority of the tasks will be conducted on first shift, candidates must be prepared to provide support on all shifts, particularly for training-related items.

- Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
