\n
\noversee and support our Cancer Registry team that covers Ronald Reagan Medical
\n
\nCenter and Santa Monica Hospital, as well as all surgical and ambulatory health
\n
\nareas. This will involve the timely and accurate abstraction of data from
\n
\nclinical records for reportable and non-reportable cancers. You will also
\n
\ndevelop and support registry follow-up services and recruit/develop CTR staff.
\n
\nYou will:
\n
\n+ Identify, recruit, train, manage, and motivate staff
\n
\n+ Plan, prioritize, and use effective time management
\n
\n+ Prepare, monitor, and manage departmental budgets
\n
\n+ Drive optimization projects to enhance team performance
\n
\n+ Report cancer data to the state according to mandated timeframes
\n
\n+ Review case finding resources
\n
\n+ Act as a resource on abstracting and reportability of cases
\n
\n+ Provide accurate cancer data to the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Program for grant support
\n
\n+ Help design and analyze cancer data research requests
\n

\nQualifications
\n
\nWe're seeking a
\n
\nhighly-motivated, independent professional with:
\n
\n+ Related Bachelor's degree - Master's preferred
\n
\n+ Five or more years of experience in leading and managing a large disease registry team
\n
\n+ Computer proficiency with CNEXT, EPIC, and Microsoft Office
\n
\n+ Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills
\n
\n+ Knowledge of the American College of Surgeon standards, California Cancer Registry, and SEER standards
\n
\n+ Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, pathology, and disease processes
\n
\n+ Detailed knowledge of ICD-0 coding classification scheme
\n
\n+ Excellent communication, organizational, and prioritizing skills
\n
\n+ Detailed knowledge of laws, rules and regulations affecting the confidentiality of medical information
\n
\n+ Background with Lean concepts and workflow automation preferred
\n
\n+ CTR Certification preferred
