The Information Security Engineer III at First Citizens Bank is responsible for ensuring the technological and digital security of the Bank at a high level of ability and technical expertise. Responsibilities

  • Ensure the technological and digital security of the Bank at a high level of ability and technical expertise.
  • Mitigate exposure to cyber threats, security risks, and unauthorized access.
  • Assess organizational networks, applications, or systems for potential vulnerabilities.
  • Protect assets and information through a variety of methods, resolving security issues or incidents as they arise.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of industry practices, technology, and evolving threats in order to enhance defenses for the Bank’s information systems and resources.
  • Oversee less experienced associates in the work group.
  • Administer tools or processes that secure assigned technical areas and data.
  • Participate in security audits, identify security gaps, and develop and implement risk mitigation solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with necessary protocols, configurations, or procedures.
  • Identify and evaluate potential threats or vulnerabilities in the Bank’s networks, applications, or systems.
  • Compile data from external or internal sources.
  • Create actionable intelligence based on review of analysis.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of technology, emerging threats, and security trends within the assigned technical area.
  • Provide guidance on appropriate security protocols.
  • Lead technical projects and serve as a resource to other business units.
  • Ensure team members are trained on the current trends, threats, and applicable technologies.
  • Investigate and resolve complex, escalated security incidents which may include unauthorized access, malware infections, configuration anomalies, cyber-attacks, and other risks.
  • Assist senior leadership in the development of security policies, standards, and strategies.
  • Provide after-hours operational support on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field of study plus four (4) years of experience in the job offered or four (4) years of experience as Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, or a related occupation.
  • High School Diploma/GED plus six (6) years of experience in the job offered or six (6) years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, or a related occupation.
  • Knowledge of data security practices, procedures, monitoring and alert tools (SCCM, SCOM, and Splunk), and risk management standards.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory administration and user provisioning, Domain Name System, Group Policy Objects, New Technology File System permissions, File Shares, SharePoint, Domain controllers, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, data loss prevention technologies, encryption technologies, and single sign on technologies.
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access Management concepts and technologies.
  • Ability to clearly communicate risks, threats, and vulnerabilities identified during assessments.
  • Availability to provide after-hours operational support on a rotating basis.
  • Occasional travel to Raleigh, NC and Morristown, NJ offices.

This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay.
