The full Pay Range is $127,900.00 - $237,200.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. By leveraging your expertise in Agile, Lean, and DevOps, you’ll lead and inspire a team of talented engineers. Your pivotal role in IT management will encompass shaping strategies, devising comprehensive departmental plans, and driving continuous improvements to uphold modern and secure engineering practices at BECU. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Guide and Develop Talent: You'll provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training to foster and elevate employee performance, while conducting timely performance reviews. Ensure Adherence to Best Practices: You'll be accountable for upholding Architectural & Engineering Principles, Patterns, and Practices across all technical engagements. Champion Excellence: You'll establish metrics and processes to regularly assess and improve engineering and operational excellence. Act as a Change Agent: You'll implement and manage best technology practices across the IT organization, and potentially across the enterprise. Drive Team Satisfaction: You'll keep a pulse on the Engineering department to ensure team satisfaction, continuous growth, and overall alignment. Enhance Service Quality: You'll maintain reliable feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the quality of service for the organization. Stay Informed: You'll maintain current knowledge about events, trends, and developments impacting IT and the financial industry. Manage Budget: You'll prepare and submit budget requests, forecast and track departmental expenses, and document any variances. Additional Duties: You’ll perform other duties as assigned. Building the Future: Participate in shaping modern and secure engineering practices. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required. Minimum of five years of experience managing multiple cross-functional engineering teams or projects. Minimum five years of demonstrated technical software engineering/developer experience, including a solid understanding of full stack development. Minimum three years of experience developing and shipping cloud-native software products using DevOps. Minimum five years of Lean/Agile experience. Desired Qualifications: Eight years of management experience of cross-functional engineering teams or projects preferred. Exceptional collaboration and communication skills across distributed teams. Confidence working through ambiguity and building processes around it. Full time hours required, with additional hours as necessary. Demonstrated deep knowledge of engineering practices and principles. Demonstrated ability to meet objectives using metrics to validate outcomes. Proficient verbal and written skills to effectively communicate in the English language. Excellent planning skills in both tactical and strategic planning.
