  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training to foster and elevate employee performance.

  • Uphold Architectural & Engineering Principles, Patterns, and Practices across all technical engagements.
  • Establish metrics and processes to regularly assess and improve engineering and operational excellence.
  • Implement and manage best technology practices across the IT organization.
  • Keep a pulse on the Engineering department to ensure team satisfaction, continuous growth, and overall alignment.
  • Maintain reliable feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the quality of service for the organization.
  • Maintain current knowledge about events, trends, and developments impacting IT and the financial industry.
  • Prepare and submit budget requests, forecast and track departmental expenses, and document any variances.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience managing multiple cross-functional engineering teams or projects.
  • Minimum five years of demonstrated technical software engineering/developer experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience developing and shipping cloud-native software products using DevOps.
  • Minimum five years of Lean/Agile experience.

Preferred

  • Eight years of management experience of cross-functional engineering teams or projects.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills across distributed teams.
  • Confidence working through ambiguity and building processes around it.
  • Full time hours required, with additional hours as necessary.
  • Demonstrated deep knowledge of engineering practices and principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet objectives using metrics to validate outcomes.
  • Proficient verbal and written skills to effectively communicate in the English language.
  • Excellent planning skills in both tactical and strategic planning.

The full Pay Range is $127,900.00 - $237,200.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant.
