The Program Manager of Strategic Workforce Planning at American Express will support and enable internal partners, including the Technology Leadership Team, by enabling systematic analyzing, forecasting, and planning for their workforce. Responsibilities

  • Own and manage relationships with a set of senior Technology leaders and their Chief of Staff.
  • Partner with teams including Technology Portfolio and Technology Finance.
  • Manage the leaders’ Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP), driving a regular cadence of meetings to review macro level insights and trending.
  • Deepen existing relationships between TWTE and the Technology Leadership Team through effective SWP management.
  • Support the enablement of best-in-class self-service tools to enable modelling of the SWP and automated dashboard reporting for our partners.
  • Manage a systematic end-to-end process to analyze, forecast, and plan the Technology workforce.
  • Derive meaningful insights from internal data sources and external benchmarking.
  • Identify solutions and drive talent recommendations based on senior leader needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with partners such as Finance and our Colleague Experience Group and build key relationships to identify and manage dependencies.
  • Manage outcomes by managing the details – sequencing and preparing for meetings and events thoughtfully to drive outcomes efficiently.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong analytics experience with the ability to draw conclusions and make inferences from the data.
  • Ability to utilize Industry trends and make meaningful recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills required, experience with senior stakeholder management.

Preferred

  • Experience working in either Technology or Consulting, or closely partnering with Technology.
  • Strategic Workforce Planning experience and/or experience with people strategy or talent management interventions.
  • Highly organized with experience running large scale programs.
  • Understanding of Agile practices.
