This is an excellent opportunity to work on new innovative technologies and in collaboration with talented engineering and operations teams. ResponsibilitiesTroubleshooting: identify hardware failures across a diverse fleet of compute servers and networking equipmentAutomation: use Linux, shell and scripting skills to contribute to our in-house deployment mechanismsCross-functional collaboration: concisely communicate between Network, Storage and Cloud Infrastructure teams as well as remote hands and vendorsInventory: manage and maintain staple parts in order to quickly repair and re-provision server infrastructureDocumentation: contribute to process documentation that help enable a small team to run global infrastructureManage remote Co-Locations: work with remote hands across the world to do everything from basic troubleshooting to large scale remote deploymentsCapacity expansion: tracking, planning and provisioning based on quarterly projectionsOn-call: Participate in a monthly rotation to manage escalationsQualificationsMinimum QualificationsBS OR equivalent experience in Computer Science or a technical field3+ years as a data center tech, with demonstrated increasing job responsibilitiesProficiency with Linux, Vmware, Cisco – Able to perform L1 tasks in Linux, Vmware and Cisco environmentsStrong understanding of server hardware and demonstrated experience troubleshooting hardware failures across compute servers and networking equipmentPrevious onsite Data center / Colo experienceDemonstrated experience with planning and executing rack movesAbility to work onsite at our Santa Clara Data Center at least 3 times a week and during escalationsAbility to be part of on-call rotations monthly to manage escalationsPreferred QualificationsExcellent problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex problems under pressure.Good understanding of project management fundamentals Excellent verbal and written communications skillsMedallia is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $129,000 - $177,000. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline.
