We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer in the insurance industry, based out of Fairfield, California. The role involves maintaining and enhancing our NIST Cyber Security Framework, managing internal and external audits, and ensuring the security of our organization's systems and data. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the ongoing development and maintenance of our NIST Cyber Security Framework
  • Facilitate and manage internal and external audits, including PCI-DSS, IT General Controls Audit, and Regulatory Audits
  • Use defensive and preventative cyber tools for tasks such as Vulnerability Scanning, EDR, SEIM Logging, OWASP Code Scanning, Encryption, Firewall management, User Access Control, and Third Party Vendor Risk Management
  • Participate in crucial capacity for the Incident Response Team
  • Manage cyber security documentation, including IT Policies, Threat Run Books, and Employee Security Awareness Training
  • Analyze and design solutions to ensure network and system security
  • Conduct periodic vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts
  • Maintain a Risk Register to track and remediate Audit Findings
  • Research, design, and advocate new technologies, architectures, and security products to support security requirements for the enterprise and its customers, business partners, and vendors
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies in the cybersecurity space and make appropriate recommendations for the organization

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the cybersecurity field, specifically within the insurance industry
  • Proven expertise in managing Cisco Routers
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Configuration Management
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Firewall Technologies
  • Experience with IT Audit procedures and protocols
  • Experience with CrowdStrike cybersecurity technology
  • Proficiency in using SIEM Tools for security information and event management
  • Knowledge of VMware Technologies and their application in cybersecurity
  • Understanding of various security frameworks and their implementation in a cybersecurity context
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred

  • Relevant certifications in cybersecurity
