The team roles up to the larger Infrastructure, Platform, Enterprise Security OrgTeam Size: 11 comprised of 8 infrastructure (network, core infra, Linux and 1 Database) and 3 DevOps/Platform membersThis role will report to Manager, Infrastructure EngineeringThe incumbent of this role requires a deep technical expertise in networking, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust network solutions.Network Architect- Scope of work: The Network Architect plays a critical role in aligning the network architecture with the broader business and IT strategy, evaluating networking solutions to determine their potential impact on the organization, and designing networks that can accommodate future expansion based on business objectives while considering important factors such as cloud integration and mobile workforce support.This role is also responsible for driving the improvement of our network’s performance, security, scalability, and availability.Major initiatives the Network Architect will be responsible forCurrent Arizona based Data Center re-location to our Allstate’s Rochelle, Illinois : Hardware discussion, implementation of hardware, access, security and implementation of the configuration.Rezoning of the current environment: Reviewing, documenting, , designing and implementing the new zoning setup.Review and updates processes & policies and create SOP’s Essential Functions:Participate in the planning and implementation of data center moves, upgrades and expansionsDesigning, building, and maintaining the data center networks. Installing and configuring networking equipment and related systems. Managing and troubleshooting data center network issuesConduct network assessments and audits. Create and maintain network documentationCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver network solutionsPerform network assessments and recommend improvements to optimize network performance and integrity while providing consultation to IT leaders regarding network performance, capacity, and scalability.Conduct network capacity planning and performance tuning to optimize network efficiency and reliability.Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery.) Implement and maintain Zero Trust network security measures to establish a robust security posture, minimize the attack surface, and mitigate the risk of unauthorized access.Guide the configuration and installation of software, routers, and other network devices and maintain current patch levels for all network devices.Partner with vendors to identify and remedy network related issues.Troubleshoot and resolve complex support issues with cloud and local infrastructure.Support escalation incidents and support on-call duty requirements.Improve internal processes to help the network team streamline operations.Required Qualifications High School Diploma required10+ years of experience as a Network Engineer supporting an enterprise medium to large-scale environment and 5+ years of experience leading network engineering initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders.Experience being a core contributor in Datacenter relocation effortsIn-depth knowledge and experience working with Palo Alto networks (Prisma Access, Panorama, HA Firewalls, Cortex Data Lake, Distributed User-ID, advanced Global Protect configuration, SSL Inspection using Encryption and Decryption)Knowledge of virtual machine and containerization technology such as VMware/Nutanix, KVM, Docker, K8s etc.Proficiency with networking and security platforms including Cisco Meraki switches and APs, Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches and Palo Alto Firewalls.Skilled at leveraging and applying network design principals with an emphasis on security.Experience managing F5 LTM and SCM and capable of creating and managing self IP’s, VIPs, Pool members, security policies and iRulesProficiency with zero trust frameworks and their implementation.Knowledge of PKI and Certificates. (Revoke, Import, Renew Certificates on Firewalls)Proficient in leveraging network automation to streamline processes, and deployment of network solutions in hybrid environments.Experience configuring VPN & GRE tunnels and understanding of both IPSEC and SSL-based technologies Understanding and working knowledge of BGP, OSPF, Static Routing, NAT, ECMP, MPLSFamiliarity with underlying network services DHCP, DNS, NTP, LDAP, Kerberos, AD.Ability to configure accurate security & NAT policies and perform validation.Experience with Cisco ISE or Aruba ClearPass (Wireless 802.1x, Wired 802.1x, Guest, TACACS+),Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools (Sumo Logic, Splunk, Extra Hop, Panorama, Nagios, SolarWinds, Uptrends, Meraki).Business Skills: Skilled in communicating and presenting complex technical information effectively to stakeholders with various levels of technical knowledge, skills, and abilities.Skilled in Project ManagementPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, related field or equivalent years of experience is preferred.Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)Knowledge or experiences with Ansible, Puppet, Salt, or Python language for Network AutomationAIP2024SkillsData Center Relocations, Network Architecture, Network Engineering, Problem Solving, Projects DesignCompensationCompensation offered for this role is $121,600.00 - 206,650.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.At Allstate Identity Protection, great things happen when our people work together.
