As a Solutions Architect at American Express, you will be responsible for the business architecture of Global Commercial Services Technology, working closely with product managers, business managers, and engineering leaders to convert business ideas into development roadmaps. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the business architecture of Global Commercial Services Technology within American Express.
  • Work with product managers, business managers, and engineering leaders to convert business ideas into development roadmaps.
  • Map business process to capabilities, providing end-to-end solution for prioritized features.
  • Ensure flexible and global system/capability design and 1-2 year capability roadmap including performance, availability, and test automation.
  • Work with partners (Product Development, Technology, and business teams) to identify needs, opportunities, and gaps, and solve problems.
  • Create architectural artifacts (process flows and diagrams) for business initiatives to ensure consistency across products.
  • Evaluate and configure new products across GCS.
  • Consolidate and correlate disconnected business needs, processes and identify synergies to avoid redundant design and build.
  • Communicate solution architecture details and roadmap to scrum teams.
  • Maintain the inventory and knowledge base on business processes, business capabilities and technical components.
  • Brainstorm and negotiate effectively with various stakeholders to continuously come up with best design.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3-5 years of Solution architecture experience
  • 3-5 years in agile product development and delivery
  • Good balance of business acumen and technical knowledge
  • Established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams
  • High degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, Agile Framework and principles
  • Enthusiasm and passion for building great products and services
  • Understanding of the evolving compliance and regulatory requirements and environment

Preferred

  • Computer Science degree or a related technical field
  • Experience with Commercial Capabilities landscape
