We will consider candidates across the US.As part of the team, your responsibilities will include:Understanding our backend technologiesWorking alongside and communicating with other talented engineersEstimating stories and tasks considering complexity, uncertainty, and level of effortFinding healthy balances between release speed, tech-debt, and code qualityWriting and maintaining code, tests, and bug fixes for production systemsCreating secure, performant API resources for frontend teamsImproving security, performance, and maintainability of the backend stackConfiguring and maintaining AWS infrastructure through codeResponding to production issuesAs part of the team, you'll be able to:Use contemporary technologies to solve interesting problems. Our primary backend stack consists of Node, PostgreSQL, Redis, and AWS.Build new features on top of a solid codebaseBring new insight and ideas to solve both challenging and straightforward problemsMake not just backend contributions, but frontend as well We could be a Match if you have:BS in Computer Science or related fieldProfessional experience deploying production code for at least 5 yearsExperience with Javascript or Typescript in a Node.js environment Experience with SQL (preferably PostgreSQL) Experience with Terraform and AWSExperience and alignment with Agile methodologiesExperience as a generalist working across multiple areas (including API code, UI code, and database optimization)$146,500 - $176,000 a yearFactors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary range is reflective of a position based in Los Angeles, CA.
