The Program Manager - Strategic Workforce Planning Analytics at American Express will play a crucial role in transforming and executing the Strategic Workforce Planning function. Responsibilities

  • Support the transformation of Strategic Workforce Planning reporting and analytics to best-in-class, automated tooling that enables self-service modeling and dashboard reporting.
  • Support the development of automated solutions, e.g., providing use cases and pressure testing modeling and dashboard solutions as they are developed.
  • Make the best use of existing tools, models, and data to produce Strategic Workforce Planning reporting while a new, automated solution is developed and implemented.
  • Produce periodic Strategic Workforce Planning reporting, and workforce management insights based on Strategic Workforce Planning data sets using existing tools and models; and adapt how reporting is produced once an automated solution is in place.
  • Support planning and change management as new tools are rolled out, and ongoing support for end users as they self-serve.
  • Support the management of the TWTE budget in close partnership with our Tech Finance and Portfolio teams.
  • Identify and track key Strategic Workforce Planning project deliverables and achievements using various techniques such as research and data analysis, scenario modeling, business case development, and project management.
  • Collaborate effectively with partners such as Finance and our Technology Portfolio teams, and build key relationships to identify and manage dependencies.
  • Manage outcomes by managing the details – sequencing and preparing for meetings and events thoughtfully to drive outcomes efficiently.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years data analysis and demonstrated analytical thinking capability and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with kanban.
  • Microsoft Suite
  • Experience in Excel

Preferred

  • Highly organized with experience running large scale programs.
  • Experience working in either Technology or Consulting, or closely partnering with Technology.
  • Understanding of Agile practices.
  • Innovative mindset and awareness of external data management and benchmarking best practices.
  • Technical expertise to collect data and ensure accuracy, along with ability to process, design and present it.
  • Ability to draw conclusions and make inferences from data in ways that help people and organizations make better decisions.
  • Resourceful and thrive in ambiguous situations where you’re challenged to think in structured ways to get at what’s meaningful.
