The Senior Director of Data at New York Community Bancorp is responsible for providing vision and strategy for all data management activities, acting as the champion of data management, governance, and quality. Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or Business Administration.
  • Ten years of experience in leading new development projects in an information technology organization, particularly data management projects.
  • Eight years of experience managing multi levels teams; including senior management.
  • Five years of experience in each of two different data management fields (data analytics, data governance, data quality, data integration, data warehouse, big data, meta or master data management).
  • Three years of experience in financial services and/or banking.
  • Solid understanding of analytics performance management.
  • Ability to drive business and technical leadership.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in analytical, OLAP, data warehousing, master data management, big data, data integrations, data modeling tools, and cloud data architectures.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Data Analytics, Business Administration, or Information Technology.

This position acts as the champion of data management, governance and quality for the organization. This position establishes data policies, standards, organization, and enforcement of information management concepts. This position oversees all data management and integration initiatives across the enterprise. This position is also accountable for reports on data metrics and budgeting for data initiatives.The role reports directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and interacts with the CIO’s direct reports to provide data services to the lines of business. This role also works closely with the business intelligence groups to make data available to fulfill business line analytics and reporting requirements.The role directly oversees four main building blocks of the data management environment:• Data Warehouse Operations – Maintain and enhance the Data Warehouse to ensure availability and reliability of the platform for business consumption of reporting, analytics, and data• Data Warehouse Project Management and Delivery – Manage initiatives, projects, and enhancements to integrate IT systems to the Data Warehouse • Data Governance – Collaborate with the data governance team. Participate in the Data Governance Committee.
