The Vice President of Product Development at Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) is responsible for collaborating with various stakeholders to manage the development and implementation of investment products across Global Equity, Global Fixed Income, and Multi-Asset classes.   • Conduct market research and analyses on competitor funds, performance, and global investment trends using various fund databases to support product development initiatives and also support presentations to Senior Management and MSIM Committees/Boards to assess marketplace viability.
  • Assist supporting the existing product line to ensure commercial success and provide ongoing support to platform that evolves in response to Investment Team strategic initiatives, client requirements, the competitive marketplace, and/or regulatory changes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree
  • 7-12 years of industry experience
  • Broad understanding of the asset management industry in either a product development, business strategy, marketing, or product management role
  • Thorough knowledge of the markets and investment management products
  • Balance of commercial awareness, project management capabilities, and business analysis skills
  • Energetic, self-starter and team-oriented
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to learn
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to manage projects independently
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

Morgan Stanley Investment Management strives to provide outstanding long-term investment performance, service and a comprehensive suite of investment management solutions to a diverse client base, which includes governments, institutions, corporations and individuals worldwide.MSIM U.S. Public Markets - Product Development Overview The U.S. Public Markets Product Development Team, based in New York, collaborates with Portfolio Management, Distribution, Senior Management and various internal stakeholders on the development and implementation of Global Equity, Global Fixed Income and Multi-Asset investment products in an effort to support MSIM’s overall business strategy and key strategic initiatives. The Team manages new products through the entire product lifecycle from the idea generation stage through the approval process and ultimately to successful operational launches across multiple asset classes and vehicle structures. The U.S. Product Development Team covers a wide breath of institutional, intermediary, and retail product launches across a range of investment strategies (e.g. Emerging Markets Equity, Global Equity, Global Listed Real Estate/Infrastructure, Global Multi-Asset, Global Fixed Income including HY, IG, CLOs, and ESG-focused among others). The Team collaborates on a global basis leveraging relationships across the firm and covers a variety of vehicle structures (e.g. 1940 Act open-end/closed-end funds, exchange traded funds, limited partnerships, collective investment trusts, institutional separate accounts/strategic partnerships, Cayman offshore funds, and Canadian pooled trusts) across jurisdictions (United States, Cayman-Offshore, Canada).
