The Data Engineering Manager at Eversource Energy will play a crucial role in establishing and supporting the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) and existing Data Platform. Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a team of data engineers for the Enterprise Data Platform.
  • Provide support and maintain an integrated set of tools for data handling, cleaning, processing, and storing.
  • Provide technical leadership over major initiatives and phases of programs.
  • Oversee Data Design and Development, including data architecture, modeling, and ETL development.
  • Develop, coach, and grow a team of data engineers.
  • Identify and deliver changes to the operating model with a focus on measuring outcomes.
  • Deliver a high-quality, self-service Enterprise Data Platform.
  • Drive the Enterprise Data Strategy forward.
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements in data models, data architectures, pipelines, and data applications.
  • Oversee data management, governance, security, and analysis.
  • Design and build an infrastructure for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources.
  • Increase automation and build analytic solutions at scale to serve business requirements.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related technical field.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in Information Technology.
  • Five plus years of experience managing data engineers.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships.
  • Experience with a cloud data platform, ideally Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with an Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Experience creating adoption of agile, lean product development best practices.
  • Experience designing and implementing data ingestion solutions in Azure using different approaches.
  • Hands-on experience in building pipelines, platforms, architecture, structures, visualizations, and data modeling.

Preferred

  • Strong familiarity with cloud technology, Azure knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with modern data architecture and tooling.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with both team and internal stakeholders.
  • Effective leadership skills including day-to-day coaching and performance management/assessment.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Strong communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement and creative problem-solving skills.
