As a Senior Marketing Data Scientist at Tinder, you will be a leader in the organization, using data to challenge and reshape our understanding of customer behavior and business performance. Your role involves deriving and communicating data-driven recommendations, defining and operationalizing performance metrics, building tools to drive business decisions, designing and analyzing experiments, and mentoring other Data Scientists. This position allows telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Be a leader with a point of view for the organization and the team, using data to constantly challenge and reshape our understanding of customer behavior and business performance.
  • Derive and communicate data-driven recommendations regarding both the prioritization of potential product/marketing initiatives and performance of current initiatives.
  • Define and operationalize the detailed tracking of company-wide, team-specific, and product-specific performance metrics via rollup tables, dashboards, and automated reporting.
  • Build tools to help drive business decisions for stakeholders.
  • Design and analyze experiments to rigorously test specific hypotheses.
  • Find the “story” in the data and share insights across the organization.
  • Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to be a mentor/advisor for other Data Scientists on the Analytics team.
  • Build and manage predictive statistical models for incrementality/growth measurement and forecasting.
  • Build and manage data pipelines required to support automated growth forecasting and lift analysis at scale for stakeholders.
  • Build dashboards and reporting that visualize business trends surfaced from predictive models.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 5 years of professional experience as Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or any occupation/position/job title involving using data science
  • 3 years of professional experience using data science including analyzing and reporting customer behavior in collaboration with Marketing, Finance, or Product, and analyzing data to drive decisions
  • 3 years of professional experience using tools and systems to find necessary data (including Python, R, Redshift, Databricks, Mode, or Tableau)
  • 3 years of professional experience with time series analysis, Causal Inference, forecasting and prediction modeling, or Marketing mix modeling
  • 3 years of professional experience utilizing SQL and data visualization tools (including Tableau or Mode) to create tools that surface useful insights, opportunities, and trends for Marketing Leaders to actionalize and exploit
  • 3 years of professional experience with data scripting in Python or R
  • 3 years of professional experience with A/B testing and advanced statistical techniques
  • 2 years of professional experience exploring new product and marketing opportunities, potential improvements to the data infrastructure, and queries about customer behavior
