  • Participate in intra- and inter-laboratory teams and partnerships to address technical challenges in critical infrastructure cyber security.
  • Collaborate and partner with other government agencies, academia, and private sector companies to achieve project objectives.
  • Generate ideas for new proposals and business development opportunities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Level 4: PhD in nuclear-related fields of study (e.g., nuclear engineering, physics, electrical engineering, etc.) or computer science/cyber security and 4 years of experience.
  • Relevant experience determined by level to include prior national laboratory exposure, such as internships at INL or another lab, and familiarity with nuclear non-proliferation research.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, sometimes for weeks at a time.
  • Knowledge of digital forensics and the primacy of digital evidence.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance plus SCI access, which requires US Citizenship.

DescriptionIdaho National Laboratory is hiring a Critical Infrastructure Cyber Security Specialist to work in our Infrastructure Resilience & Analysis department.In this position you will do research, design, and communicate cyber security solutions to protect domestic and international critical infrastructure and operations. Identify the vulnerabilities of potential cyber theft or cyber sabotage, develop risk assessment methodologies, and propose mitigation strategies for critical infrastructure owners and operators, regulators, and policy makers. Perform onsite training and advise operators in domestic and international locations to enhance cybersecurity.
