Open Systems Technologies is seeking a Platform Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in New York, NY. Responsibilities
- Join a financial firm's team as a Platform Infrastructure Engineer.
- Work with microservices (Docker, Kubernetes) in a production environment.
- Manage Linux OS-level and command-line/scripting knowledge and configuration management principles.
- Utilize databases such as MongoDB, Postgres, DynamoDB.
- Implement and manage monitoring tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, CloudWatch, Splunk, NewRelic, and ELK in the cloud.
- Code beyond simple scripting with strong opinions on maintainable/reusable code in Python, Ruby, or Java.
- Provision computer systems on a Cloud based platform using Terraform and/or Cloud Formation.
- Design and implement complex, but easily managed, automated infrastructure.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- 10 years of DevOps, TechOps, or SRE experience
- 5 years of AWS experience
- Strong Linux OS-level and command-line/scripting knowledge and configuration management principles
- Knowledge of databases such as MongoDB, Postgres, DynamoDB
- Experience in architecting, implementing, and managing monitoring tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, CloudWatch, Splunk, NewRelic and ELK in the cloud
Preferred
- Microservices (Docker, Kubernetes) experience in a production environment
- Coding beyond simple scripting with strong opinions on maintainable/reusable code in Python, Ruby, or Java
- Experience with computer provisioning on a Cloud based platform using Terraform and/or Cloud Formation
- Experience with distributed systems design, maintenance, and hands-on troubleshooting/debugging skills
- Exceptional analytical skills
- Experience building a Microservice based architecture
- Experience in updating runbooks, tools, and documentation that help the team to respond to incidents proactively
- Able to design and implement complex, but easily managed, automated infrastructure
- AWS certifications
