Responsibilities

• Perform patient care, treatments, and procedures/activities within training and competence level.
• Provide patient assistance with activities of daily living such as feeding, ambulating, turning, and positioning.
• Promptly and courteously respond to patient call lights and provide assistance within the scope of the position.
• Routinely and consistently conduct patient care rounds and observe patient activity, notifying the nurse immediately when a change in patient condition is identified.
• Accurately and promptly document patient care activities in the medical record.
• Recognize the occurrence of life-threatening situations and emergencies and take appropriate actions in a timely manner.
• Clean, organize, and restock the department work area and patient supply locations and evaluate supplies for integrity and expiration.
• Clean patient rooms and care areas to facilitate patient movement.
• Complete all assigned education, training, and learning requirements within the scheduled time frame.

Qualifications

Required

• High School or Equivalent (GED) or completion of 11 of 12 years of high school education with anticipated graduation within 12 months.
• Entry Level
• Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 12 weeks of hire.
