As Director of Housekeeping at InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown, you will oversee the housekeeping operation to ensure product quality standards are met and optimum service is provided to hotel guests.   • May be responsible for the security of lost and found items or coordinate the lost and found function with other departments.
  • Conduct pre-shift meeting and review all information pertinent to the day's activities.
  • Conduct comprehensive departmental meetings to include a review of procedures and events which warrant special handling and detailed information.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping department, plan, schedule, and organize work to ensure proper coverage. Communicate and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement procedures for managing the quality of housekeeping and laundry services.
  • Schedule routine inspections of all guest rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, guest rooms/suites, equipment, housekeeping and food and beverage linens, public restrooms, lobby, etc. are clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure that employees are advised of deficiencies and instructed on corrective action.
  • May serve as "manager on duty" as required.
  • Control expenses within all areas of housekeeping. Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans which support the overall objectives of the hotel.
  • Establish par levels for supplies and equipment. Replenish shortages and other business supplies for daily business.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma / secondary education / equivalent.
  • Four years' housekeeping/laundry experience preferably in a hotel of similar size, including supervisory experience.
  • Some college preferred.
  • Must be fluent in local language and other languages preferred.

Full Job Description

**Role Purpose**

As Director of Housekeeping, you will manage the housekeeping operation to ensure product quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to hotel guests according to hotel and company business objectives. Manages a large number of housekeeping employees in a full-service, luxury, major flagship hotel which may include multiple sites and facilities, a number of major outlets, high volume of catering and convention facilities, and a large number of VIP and key guests.

**Key Accountabilities**

People

+ Direct daily activities, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers.

This is a salary position and the range for this role is from $91,000.00 to $118,000.00. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown in Los Angeles, California. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
