The Production Supervisor at Teijin Automotive Technologies manages activities of an assigned work area to accomplish company goals and customer's requirements.   • Follow up with Team Leaders on all activities they are responsible for.
  • Review shop floor with previous shift supervisor before start of shift to address issues not covered by team leaders.
  • Responsible for environmental, health and safety issues in assigned department.
  • Schedule, direct, train and motivate employees within assigned area.
  • Maintain acceptable levels of quality, production efficiency and reduction of scrap.
  • Compile and maintain all required department records.
  • Evaluate and maintain employee performance levels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production and equipment problems to maintain continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate the resolution of employee issues.
  • Ensure good communication and cooperation within department and with other departments.
  • Communicate and enforce company policies and rules.
  • Support IATF16949 and ISO14001 initiative.
  • Responsible to participate in continually improving processes to achieve safety/quality/environmental objectives.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years supervision experience in a manufacturing area preferred.
  • BS Degree in leadership and supervision desired.
  • Must be open to any shift.
  • Excellent written, listening and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and perform mathematical problems to assess labor based on production schedules.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to resolve employee issues.
  • Must possess conflict resolution and problem solving skills.

We are seeking a Production Supervisor on 2nd Shift for our Huntington, Indiana Plant.


Position Summary: Manages activities of assigned work area to accomplish the company goals and customer's requirements
Essential Job Functions:

  • Support continuous improvement activities by learning, teaching and being an integral part of the implementation of:
    • 5s

    • Standardized Work
    • Kaizen
    • Problem Solving
    • Change Over Reduction
    • Lean Material Systems
    • Level Production
  • Follow up with Team Leaders on all activities the Team Leaders are responsible for.
  • Review shop floor with previous shift supervisor before start of shift and either accept as is or require previous shift supervisor to correct any issues. Concentration is to be on areas that are not covered by team leaders on oncoming shift.
  • Responsible for environmental, health and safety issues in assigned department.
  • Schedule, direct, train and motivate employees within assigned area.
  • Maintain acceptable levels of quality, production efficiency and reduction of scrap.
