Iron Mountains LLC is seeking a mechanically inclined individual to join their Testing Center as a Sled Test Technician. Responsibilities

  • Safely perform testing including pre-run setup, post-run tasks, and meticulously follow established test procedures.
  • Assist in creating additional procedures/protocols as needed.
  • Perform ATD changeovers between test runs and bench changeovers.
  • Perform foam tests.
  • Learn and perform routine system maintenance.
  • Assist in calibration of all necessary equipment following known protocols and create new ones as necessary.
  • Perform repairs to ATD’s and sled systems equipment as assigned.
  • Maintain equipment logs to track maintenance and calibration cycles.
  • Maintain a clean and safe test lab facility environment.
  • Comply with all Company safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Organize tools, equipment, and product samples.
  • Destruction of product samples and trash.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve facility safety, customer service, workflow, procedures, and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology or similar discipline.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a related discipline or a combination of education and experience equivalent to above.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, instruments and calibration.
  • Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification (Company will provide training after hiring).

  • Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering plans and specifications, testing and inspection principles, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, and shop equipment, including soldering.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with diverse people, situations, and ideas.
  • Possess positive and approachable demeanor with good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain poised under pressure.
  • Exhibits exceptional work ethic, strong desire to learn and ability to accept constructive feedback.

We have a unique opportunity for a ambitious mechanically inclined individual to join our Testing Center as a Sled Test Technician and provide support to the Sled Test Engineers in the efficient, effective, and safe operations of the Sled Testing Facility.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely Perform Testing

Assist with and/or perform:

  • Pre-run test setup including car seat installation, ATD installation, pre-run measurements, webbing tension adjustment, and pre-run photos.
  • Post-run tasks including post-run photos, car seat and ATD removal, and foam replacement.
  • Meticulously follow established test procedures and assists in creating additional procedures/protocols.
  • ATD changeovers between test runs as needed.
  • Bench changeovers.
  • Perform foam tests.


System and Component Maintenance

  • Learn workings and perform routine system maintenance.
  • Assist in calibration of all necessary equipment following known protocols and when necessary, creating new ones (ATD, foam testing, sled, cameras, data, etc.)
  • Perform repairs to ATD’s and sled systems equipment as assigned.
  • Maintain equipment logs to track maintenance and calibration cycles.


Assist and actively participate in:

  • Maintaining a clean, and safe test lab facility environment.
  • Complying with all Company safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Organizing tools, equipment, and product samples.
  • Destruction of product samples and trash.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve facility safety, customer service, workflow, procedures, and policies.

Physical requirements

  • Required to lift 75lbs on a regular basis and 100lbs intermittently.
  • No physical restrictions for lifting, climbing, etc.
  • Required to use hands to operate machinery, hand tools and perform repetitive tasks.


Other

  • Employees who are in a Non-Exempt position must accurately complete, obtain approval from their manager, and timely submit a timecard in the form provided by the Company as it coincides with the Company’s bi-weekly payroll schedule.
  • Ability to work extended hours as business needs warrant, may include nights and weekends.
  • Travel: Minimal domestic as business needs warrant for training.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License
