  • Instruct patients in activities and techniques, such as sports, dance, music, art or relaxation techniques designed to meet their specific needs.
  • Assess patient needs through observations, medical records, tests and discussions with other healthcare professionals, patient family and patient.
  • Engage patients in therapeutic activities, such as exercise, games and community outings.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or other recreation-based field
  • Three or more years' experience in recreation in a healthcare setting with knowledge of patient population served by the facility.
  • Current NC LRT license
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work well with male and female adult (18+) patients with Chemical dependency and Mental Health disorders
  • CPR and CPI certification (training offered onsite)
  • Teamwork and excellent customer service

Preferred

  • Previous experience working as a Recreation Therapist in a healthcare setting
  • CTRS certification

REQUIRED:

+ Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or other recreation-based field

+ Three or more years' experience in recreation in a healthcare setting with knowledge of patient population served by the facility.

+ Current NC LRT license

+ Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

+ Ability to work well with male and female adult (18+) patients with Chemical dependency and Mental Health disorders

+ Crisis Prevention and CPR certifications (offered on site)
