The Youth Partnerships Manager at the NYC Mayor's Office supports the Community Engagement team to lead and manage strategic corporate and business partnerships to benefit NYC Service youth programs.   • Coordinate space for mentoring events.
  • Design resources and tools to support city agencies and their youth with college and career mentors.
  • Support the Corporate Partnerships Manager with the NYC Corporate Volunteer Council.
  • Identify ongoing youth-centered opportunities to position NYC Service as a thought leader.
  • Manage portfolio of city agencies relationships and cultivate new partners.
  • Engage city agency partners long-term with volunteer engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with NYC Service teams to cultivate corporate volunteer, in-kind, and financial support for programs.
  • Oversee the maintenance of systems and records for all corporate prospects and supporters.

Qualifications

Required

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities related to the duties described.
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities related to the duties described.
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above, but all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in '1' above.

The Youth Partnerships Manager supports the Community Engagement team to lead and manage strategic corporate and business partnerships to benefit NYC Service youth programs.

This position will work in collaborating with the Corporate Partnerships Manager and the Youth Strategies Manager to develop and anchor high quality youth programing that engages private and public entities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Project Management & Expansion:

- Lead strategy to promote youth-centered engagement between corporate/business partners and NYC

youth and young adults, building commitment to authentic and mutually beneficial partnerships.

- Oversee management of youth engagement in corporate service programs/initiatives, including:

o Working with the Deputy Chief Service Officer to develop and lead a new STEP Program

initiative centered around young girls,

as well as other marginalized and vulnerable youth groups o Collaborating with the Corporate

Partnerships

Manager to bolster additional opportunities for youth to connect to mentors in several initiatives:

coordinating one

off Speed Mentoring sessions for young women with corporate and city partners; coordinating longer

term (5 session) engagement with our STEP Mentoring Program (in collaboration with DYCD and

other city agencies); and hosting an Annual Citywide Speed Mentoring Day each spring o Recruit, train,

and coach volunteers to support

positive youth development o Overseeing the Be In-Kind portfolio with mayoral employees and business

partners, including an annual Secret Snowflake campaign to provide gifts for families during the holiday

season and Project

Move-In each spring to provide materials for college bound youth who are in transition from moving out

of NYC shelters

- Coordinate space for mentoring events, to connect to and get resources directly to youth-centered

programs in the formulation and implementation of employee volunteer engagement and/or days of

service

- Design resources and tools to support city agencies and their youth to effectively engage with college

and career mentors

- Support Corporate Partnerships Manager with the NYC Corporate Volunteer Council to bring business

partners together to hear about needs and Mayoral priorities from City agency partners, including

quarterly meetings and an annual corporate summit

- Identify ongoing youth-centered opportunities to position NYC Service as a thought leader in the

corporate social responsibility/employee volunteer engagement space Corporate Partnerships and

Stewardship:

- Manage portfolio of city agencies relationships and cultivate new partners with a goal of achieving a

strong connection to NYC Service, youth development, and sense of mission alignment

- Engage city agency partners long-term and offering tangible touch points for their youth through

volunteer engagement opportunities

- Collaborate with NYC Service teams to cultivate corporate volunteer, in-kind, and financial support

for programs

- Oversee the maintenance of systems and records for all corporate prospects and supporters

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or

2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
