The Assistant Supervisor at Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. is responsible for leading the planning and execution of work efforts for assigned departments to maintain the quality and integrity of products at the lowest possible cost.   • Ensure adequate resources are in place for employees to perform daily operations, including materials, tools, and training.
  • Ensure consistency of operation and quality; offer suggestions for improvement of processes.
  • Assist with problem solving, corrective action and root-cause analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to solve problems & improve performance.
  • Interview and select applicants to meet headcount needs.
  • Recommend termination of employees for policy violations or performance-related issues.
  • Recognize issues, problems, or opportunities & determine whether action is appropriate.
  • Demonstrate honesty, treat people fairly with dignity & respect, and coach subordinates.

Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
  • Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
  • 2 year college/university education, or equivalent experience.
  • Up to 3 years related experience in manufacturing, including supervision.
  • Understanding of modern manufacturing methods.
  • Ability to understand and interpret customer specifications.
  • Understands the importance of effective conflict resolution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools).
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to tolerate constant noise (machine motors, large fans).
  • Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • The employee frequently is required to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance.

+ Coaches subordinates in accomplishing specific tasks or solving problems.

Required Experience:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Education/Licensure/Credentials 2 year college/university education, or equivalent experience.

Experience Up to 3 years related experience in manufacturing, including supervision.
