Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00

Responsibilities:

As the Safety Manager at Axis Portable Air, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and initiatives to minimize workplace hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work areas to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Provide safety training and education to employees on topics such as hazard recognition, accident prevention, and emergency response.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with management and department heads to address safety concerns and develop effective safety solutions.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety activities, including incident reports, training records, and safety inspections.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries, concerns, and issues from employees, management, and regulatory agencies.
• Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and industry best practices and recommend updates to safety policies and procedures as needed.
• Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and agencies as necessary to support safety initiatives and compliance efforts.
• Act as a safety advocate and champion, promoting a positive safety culture and encouraging employee engagement and participation in safety activities.
• Travel required 50% of the year

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant safety certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in safety management or related field, preferably in the construction or equipment rental industry.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Google Suite and other relevant software applications.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform job duties in various indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to inclement weather conditions and construction sites.

Must be able to stand, walk, climb, and lift heavy objects as required to conduct safety inspections and investigations.
