  • Establish and maintain quality KPI records for all manufacturing operations
  • Collaborates with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs
  • Prepares product and process quality reports
  • Manages quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget and initiating corrective actions

Qualifications

Required

  • BS degree in appropriate discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in quality
  • Knowledge and experience in IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Experience in lead-battery manufacturing preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project Management and Analytics software
  • Proficiency in English is required

Preferred

  • Master's degree in quality management, engineering, MBA or a related field
  • Certified Quality Manager (CQM)
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Proficiency in additional languages

Full Job Description

SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates the company’s quality activities to ensure products, processes, and services meet or exceed customers’ expectations. This position reports to the Vice President of North American Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assures quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards and testing materials and products

· Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, engineers and sales personnel

· Develops raw material standards by studying manufacturing and engineering requirements, conferring and negotiating with suppliers, and devising testing methods and procedures

· Implements in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods and devising testing methods and procedures

· Establishes standards for the disposition of finished product by devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures

· Interfaces, resolves, root cause analysis, and implements corrective actions on customer complaints

· Provides training and support to staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices

· Manages certification processes and maintain necessary certifications for the organization

· Maintains product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures

· Establish and maintain quality KPI records for all manufacturing operations

· Collaborates with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods

· Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and assign employees and following up on work results

· Manages quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees

· Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions

· Any other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management

· Normal work hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise approximately 3 direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

· The ideal candidate is a self-starter, resourceful, and a proven leader with excellent analytical, negotiating and problem-solving skills

· Experience in managing and conducting internal and external audits

· Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills

· Strong IATF 16949 & ISO 9001 quality system knowledge, auditing, analytic and computer skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· Must have a BS degree in appropriate discipline.

· Master’s degree in quality management, engineering, MBA or a related field preferred.

· Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, or other relevant certifications.

· Minimum 8 years of experience in quality.

· Knowledge and experience in IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems.

· Experience in lead-battery manufacturing preferred.

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project Management and Analytics software.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

· Proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in additional languages preferred.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

REASONING ABILITY

Must have a prominent level of reasoning capability including the ability to prioritize and execute individual tasks with moderate direct supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

· Must be able to travel internationally and visit customers as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Must be able to work outside of normal business hours as needed to accomplish objectives and support responsibilities.

· Consistent and regular attendance is required.

· Travel may approach up to 25%.
