Responsibilities

  • Clean coils and equipment.
  • Inspect all facilities specific mechanical air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment to identify possible deficiencies and/or malfunctions.
  • Interpret all information gathered from blueprints, instruction books and sketches to maintain all equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.
  • Perform all work following infection control procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and take proactive steps to ensure equipment is properly maintained.
  • Check meters, gauges, signal lights and other warning devices for possible problems and makes necessary corrections.
  • Perform repairs and major replacement components of building systems.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and provide documentation of water treatment systems.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years general maintenance-related work experience OR completion of a trade school.
  • Driver's License.
  • Act 34 clearance.

Preferred

  • Military experience.
  • High School diploma with three-year apprenticeship in institutional refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation systems.
  • Completion of a recognized course in institutional refrigeration and air conditioning may be substituted year for year for apprenticeship and experience.
  • Associates degree from an accredited trade school or completion of an associated trade specific apprentice program.
  • Must possess appropriate license or registration to meet code requirements, as needed.

Full Job Description

UPMC Horizon - Shenango Valley is hiring a General Maintenance 2 - HVAC/Service Tech to join the Facilities Team! This full-time role will work 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. shifts with some travel to UPMC Greenville and maintenance outbuildings as needed. On call, weekend rotation, and working off shifts and holidays is required.

Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects level of education, experience and manager discretion at time of offer.

General Maintenance 2 - HVAC/Service Tech:

+ General Maintenance 2-HVAC/Service Tech salary range $20.05- $32.13 per hour.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Maintain/prepare job site/shop.

+ Clean, paint, and maintain mechanical and plant rooms/centers.

Journeyman 1 - Service Technician:

+ Journeyman 1-ServiceTechnician salary range $24.48-$42.46 per hour

**Responsibilities:**

+ Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

+ Inspect all facilities specific mechanical air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment to identify possible deficiencies and/or malfunctions. Inspect mechanical devices and makes any necessary repairs or corrections.

+ Interpret all information gathered from blueprints, instruction books and sketches to maintain all equipment. Ensure all equipment is kept in efficient working order and operated in a safe manner.

+ Maintain a clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas. Maintain assigned mechanical area. Fabricate and maintain ICRA consistent with UPMC policy and standards.

+ Perform all work following infection control procedures. Complete and records work orders; submits hours to supervisor on a daily basis.

+ Perform preventive maintenance and take proactive steps to ensure equipment is properly maintained. Check meters, gauges, signal lights and other warning devices for possible problems and makes necessary corrections.
