As a Network Engineer I at ClifyX, you will be responsible for developing and executing network changes, providing break-fix support, automating routine tasks, and collaborating with various teams to drive bug resolution and network improvement. This role involves working with a wide range of network protocols and technologies, as well as scripting and automation, to ensure the stability and efficiency of the network.

Responsibilities

  • Use existing procedures and tools to develop and safely execute network change, and may develop new procedures as needed.
  • Provide break-fix support for network events in partnership with network development engineers.
  • Develop scripts to automate routine tasks for team and business units.
  • Coordinate with networking automation services for the development and integration of support tooling.
  • Coordinate with network monitoring to gather telemetry and create alerts rules using them.
  • Build dashboards to represent data at various network layers and device roles for identifying network issues and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with network vendor technical account team and internal qualification and test team to drive bug resolution and assist in the qualification of new firmware and/or operating systems.
  • Collaborate with program/project managers to develop milestones and deliverables.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS or related engineering field
  • 3+ years of Network Engineering experience
  • Experience working in a large ISP or cloud provider environment
  • Experience working in a network operations role
  • Knowledge of protocols such as MPLS, BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, and DHCP
  • Experience with scripting or automation and data center design – Python preferred
  • Experience with network monitoring and telemetry solutions
  • Experience with network modeling and programming – YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF
  • Ability to use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent judgment in influencing product roadmap direction, features, and priorities

Preferred

  • Experience with VxLAN and EVPN

Full Job Description

Position: Network Engineer I

Duration: 12 months contract - only W2

Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite)



Day-to-day, you will:

• Use existing procedures and tools to test new hardware/ optics/ protocols/ software. However, may have to develop new procedures from time to time.

• Develop scripts to automate routine tasks for team and business units.

• Coordinate with networking automation services for the development and integration of support tooling.

• Coordinate with network monitoring to gather telemetry and create alerts rules using them.

• Build dashboards to represent data at various network layers and device roles that help identify network issues, anomalies.

• Collaborate with network vendor technical account team and internal qualification and test team to drive bug resolution and assist in the qualification of new firmware and/or operating systems.

• Collaborate with program/project managers to develop milestones and deliverables.



Qualifications displayed in the job posting

The first project for these contractors will be an optics-related project testing and certifying Layer1 aspects of our network. Namely onboarding new cables and optics and testing their interop across the networking fleet
