Gates Sr. Institute for Population and Reproductive Health is critical in advancing evidence-based family planning policies, practices, and programs worldwide. For over two decades, the institute has worked to promote and advance scholarship and science for social change, primarily focused on family planning, gender equity, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and population dynamics.

We are seeking a **_Community Liaison - Program Officer_** who will contribute to managing various programmatic and communications activities focusing on international family planning, reproductive health, and population dynamics for the institute.

_Overview_

As the WHGI **_Program Officer/Community Liaison_** , you will facilitate communication, collaboration, and programmatic execution within the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) Secretariat. Your responsibilities will encompass coordinating various subcommittees, managing virtual events, fostering partnerships, and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. This role is crucial as it will support the unveiling and execution of WHGI's communications strategy, leveraging the power of WHGI platforms to amplify impact.

**Specific Duties & Responsibilities**

_Serve as ICFP Community Liaison_

+ Coordinate programmatic and communication efforts across the institute's partner and community networks.

+ Provide administrative, promotional, logistical, and communication support for ISC (International Steering Committee) Subcommittee Co-chairs for regularly scheduled meetings (once per month).

+ Develop agendas and implement quarterly calls with co-chairs to enhance cross-sectoral engagement.

+ Lead speaker engagement and logistics support for virtual events hosted by the W. H. Gates Institute's platform.

+ Identify synergies and opportunities for engagement across communities and networks.

+ Manage on-site and virtual events for each subcommittee in the lead up to and through the conference on the ICFP platform.

_Develop and Maintain Global Partnerships_

+ Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with global partners, particularly in the Global South.

+ Work collaboratively to identify opportunities for joint initiatives, research projects, and advocacy efforts.

+ Highlight and elevate the accomplishments of global partners through various communications channels such as newsletters, blog posts, and digital media.

+ Highlight accomplishments of WHGI RHCoEs (Reproductive Health Centers of Excellence) by collaborating with the communications team through various platforms.

+ Build and maintain WHGI's leadership training alumni network.

_Elevate Global South Institutions_

+ Integrate Reproductive Health Centers of Excellence (RHCoEs) into the planning process for ICFP2025, ensuring their active participation in subcommittees.

+ Promote the contributions and innovations of Global South institutions within the WHGI network.

+ Facilitate the inclusion of Global South perspectives in global dialogues on family planning and reproductive health.

_Ensure Programmatic Alignment with Strategic Priorities_

+ Collaborate with the communications team to showcase research findings and advocacy initiatives.

+ Utilize WHGI platforms to amplify the impact of research programs and policy advocacy.

+ Ensure alignment of communication strategies with WHGI's mission and vision.

+ Communications Team Support

+ Craft formal letters of invitation and other official communications.

+ Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent messaging and branding.

+ Support the development of community blog posts, social media posts, and newsletter articles.

+ Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy and clarity.

+ Manage and update content on the WHGI website and platforms.

+ Assist in the development of marketing materials and campaigns.

+ Participate in team meetings and contribute creative ideas.

_Additional Responsibilities Under Program Officer_

+ Draft correspondence on behalf of the ICFP Secretariat.

+ Serve as the point of contact for ISC Subcommittees and manage their meetings.

+ Coordinate relevant virtual events and webinars.

+ Manage all Highlighted Sessions and evening events logistics for ICFP conferences.

+ Lead copywriting and editorial tasks for communication materials.

+ Support program development and implementation.

_Additional Skills_

+ Demonstrated experience in project management, event coordination, and stakeholder engagement.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

+ Familiarity with reproductive health issues and global health landscape preferred.

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Master's Degree in a related field.

+ Three years related experience.

+ Additional education may substitute for experience and additional experience may substitute for education to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
