Qualifications

Required

  • Current and valid New Jersey Practical Nurse license
  • Experience administering adult and pediatric vaccines

Preferred

  • One year experience in OB/GYN procedures
  • One year of outpatient pediatric nursing experience
  • Up to date education credentials in the Vaccine for Children program requirements

**Responsibilities**

The **Licensed Practical Nurse** in the Family Health _Center_ is an integral part of the health care team. The LPN will provide nursing support to the professional team by providing direct patient care in terms of managing a high volume of patients coming into the Family Health Center for a variety of appointment types. The LPN will interview and room patients, ensuring all regulatory requirements are maintained. The LPN will provide follow up for various clinical sessions, and will maintain care in the appropriate documentation format, meeting all Joint Commission and patient safety requirements. Works closely with physicians to ensure plan of care is complete and the patient understands the plan. Provides instruction and education to patients and families. Coordinates medication refills, phone calls, appointments, and surgical scheduling. Will work in women's health, gynecology, and adult medicine. Must have experience working in pediatrics and can confidently administer pediatric vaccines. Must provide care in an organized and patient centered manner. The LPN will maintain all required nursing competencies on a yearly basis. Able to act in accordance with standards in case of patient emergency. Must be able to communicate in a positive manner with staff, patients and physicians. Must have a basic understanding of insurance plans and implications on the path for care
