Cable Technician

Description POSITION OVERVIEW: Ensure each project's system is complete, optimized for performance, and ready

for client turnover by testing all the technical settings (technical finish). Verify that the system achieves

proper coverage/EQ, and that it functions as the system designer and client intended (project review).

Deliver an exciting system turnover experience for the client and ensure the client knows how to use the

system to its full potential. Support Shop and Customer Support Teams as able.

COORDINATES WITH: Account Manager, System Designer, Project Manager, Operations Administrator,

Shop Lead, Project Lead, and Customer Support (CS) Administrator. Also coordinates with

manufacturers/vendors, manufacturer representatives, client representative, and AV consultants (as

applicable).

KEY RESULT AREAS (KRA'S):

1. Commissioning Specialist Roles

- Engage clients at the end of a project to ensure EA met their expectations

- Ensure systems are fully functional and properly configured to meet clients' objectives

- Provide technical advice to the Team-internal technical expert

- Assist the Shop Team in fabricating racks and testing/configuring equipment in the Shop

- Assist Customer Support Team with service issues

2. Efficiency

- Complete technical finish and project review in timeframe budgeted and clients' deadlines

- Complete client training within the time budgeted

- Build, configure, and test all Shop equipment within 100% of budget

- Submit accurate time log and work order log entries daily

- Submit credit card receipts each week, at a minimum

3. Performance

- Present engaging client training sessions and support for first use; earn excellent client

feedback

- Complete technical finish and commissioning on time, on budget, and with exceptional

quality-prevent rework and additional trips to finish project

- Ensure all equipment is assembled, tested, and project-ready before it leaves the shop

- Acquire 1 Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) Renewal Units (RU) or manufacturer/vendor

certification each month

- Support Service work orders as available Requirements Broadband, EO/IR systems, Networking, OSP, Patch Panel, AB Testing, Cable Installation, Cabling, Coax Cable, Digital, Audio Video, Audio Visual Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
