  • Ongoing monitoring of portfolio companies and associated industries and creation of materials and portfolio analytics for quarterly portfolio reviews.
  • Maintain a continual awareness of the industry, emerging trends and factors which influence the value of Temasek's assets and opportunities for growth.
  • Interface with external counterparties and represent Temasek as an ambassador.
  • Other duties as required by the Credit group management.

Qualifications

Required

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in Leveraged Finance, Investment Banking, Private Credit, Private Equity or Credit Research.
  • Strong finance, accounting, valuation, data manipulation, modeling, and Excel skills.
  • Ability to quickly grasp concepts and problem solve.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate an investment recommendation.
  • Strong ethics and integrity, an ownership mentality, open-mindedness and receptiveness to feedback, and analytical/results-oriented.

Preferred

  • Transaction experience and knowledge in Private Credit is preferred to Public Credit.

About Credit & Hybrid Solutions:

Temasek's CHS team is a global investor and solutions provider of capital that looks across capital structure and instrument, to provide a comprehensive and competitive solution for middle-market and large cap businesses. While the team's focus is generalist in nature, we take a thematic but flexible approach to investing and sourcing deals across the capital stack, partnering with profitable and growing companies to deliver execution certainty and long-term capital solutions. We focus on creating asymmetric opportunities with strong downside protection and upside nodes, utilizing our flexible mandate and capital to invest across the capital structure, including: unitranche direct lending, 1L/2L/mezzanine/preferred equity, JV partnerships, asset-based finance, publicly traded secondary credit, and credit funds.

Ideal candidate:
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in Leveraged Finance, Investment Banking, Private Credit, Private Equity or Credit Research.
  • Possess strong finance, accounting, valuation, data manipulation, modeling, and Excel skills - along with the ability to quickly grasp concepts and problem solve.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency who is intellectually curious, open-minded, and can parse through and grasp key drivers of a business structure.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills are required, along with an ability to articulate an investment recommendation.
  • We are a small but growing team. The ability to be a team-player and work in a team under pressure is critical. However, the ability to also conduct independent research and analysis without constant direction is also important. Attention to detail is a must.

  • Conduct independent, fundamental due diligence on investment opportunities (individual companies and platforms) and industries (i.e., detailed valuation and modeling, sensitivity analysis, relative value, and research from public and private sources).
  • Create operating financial models, analyze key financial and operational metrics, and incorporate industry analysis to create projections and cases which are defensible.
  • Prepare and present due diligence materials, screening, and investment committee memos.
  • Ongoing monitoring of portfolio companies and associated industries and creation of materials and portfolio analytics for quarterly portfolio reviews.
  • Maintain a continual awareness of the industry, emerging trends and factors which influence the value of Temasek's assets and opportunities for growth.
  • Interfacing with external counterparties and representing Temasek as an ambassador.
  • Other duties as required by the Credit group management.
Qualifications/Capabilities/Experience
  • Excellent academic qualifications.
  • Keen analytical skills and the ability to quickly discern any qualitative and quantitative synergies of a potential investment/ trade.

Salary Range: Base salary of US$120K - US$195K per annum (compensation structure includes various additional incentives payable in April, August and October annually)
