As a Garage Mechanic at Mauser Packaging Solutions, you will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift-gates, and any other company-owned equipment. Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, light duty vehicles and any other company-owned equipment in accordance with all federal, state and local legal and regulatory agencies.
  • Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections per company methods on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift-gates, light duty vehicles and any other company-owned equipment.
  • Perform quality maintenance repairs as required to maximize safety and reliability on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift-gates, light duty vehicles and any company-owned equipment.
  • Create and complete work order entries. Maintain work order and vehicle maintenance records.
  • Utilize the company's maintenance software program to create and complete work orders.
  • Conduct all levels of preventive maintenance functions such as regular servicing of vehicles including oil changes, and equipment inspections.
  • Electrical diagnostics, repair and replacement.
  • Lead and/or assist with the physical parts purchasing, inventory, receiving and proper charge out of parts to work orders.
  • Performs general cleaning and repair duties.
  • Oversee other shop personnel.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of school and 2 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair or 4 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair without the schooling.
  • Medium / Heavy Duty truck technical training.
  • ASE certification.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather conditions outside.
  • Current valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Knowledge and understanding of FMCSRs and DOT Compliance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Air brake certification or ability to get a certification.

Preferred

  • CDL Class A.
  • 609 HVAC Certification.
  • Brake Inspector Certification, knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEM's and component manufacturers.

  • Technician must own and provide all tools necessary to perform maintenance. Diagnostic equipment, major shop tools, and secure toolbox will be provided by the company
  • Current valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Must have own tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of FMCSRs and DOT Compliance
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements
  • Air brake certification or ability to get a certification
