As a Garage Mechanic at Mauser Packaging Solutions, you will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift-gates, and any other company-owned equipment. Responsibilities
- Perform inspections on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, light duty vehicles and any other company-owned equipment in accordance with all federal, state and local legal and regulatory agencies.
- Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections per company methods on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift-gates, light duty vehicles and any other company-owned equipment.
- Perform quality maintenance repairs as required to maximize safety and reliability on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift-gates, light duty vehicles and any company-owned equipment.
- Create and complete work order entries. Maintain work order and vehicle maintenance records.
- Utilize the company's maintenance software program to create and complete work orders.
- Conduct all levels of preventive maintenance functions such as regular servicing of vehicles including oil changes, and equipment inspections.
- Electrical diagnostics, repair and replacement.
- Lead and/or assist with the physical parts purchasing, inventory, receiving and proper charge out of parts to work orders.
- Performs general cleaning and repair duties.
- Oversee other shop personnel.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2 years of school and 2 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair or 4 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair without the schooling.
- Medium / Heavy Duty truck technical training.
- ASE certification.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to work in inclement weather conditions outside.
- Current valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must have own tools.
- Knowledge and understanding of FMCSRs and DOT Compliance.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
- Air brake certification or ability to get a certification.
Preferred
- CDL Class A.
- 609 HVAC Certification.
- Brake Inspector Certification, knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEM's and component manufacturers.

- Technician must own and provide all tools necessary to perform maintenance. Diagnostic equipment, major shop tools, and secure toolbox will be provided by the company

- Knowledge of OSHA requirements
- Air brake certification or ability to get a certification
