Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Current NYS License to practice as a Professional Registered Nurse
  • CNOR or CNAMB Certification within 1 year
  • CASC required within 1 year
  • BLS, PALS, ACLS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation
  • CPI certification
  • Three years of operating room nursing experience including minimum 2 years in ASC
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Endoscopy clinical and management experience

Preferred

  • MSN or other graduate degree
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Member of AORN & APAN

Full Job Description

+ POSITION SUMMARY:

+ Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services, the ASC Manager is responsible for the dailyclinical & operationsl management and patient flow of the Center including OR and ENDO patients.. Develops staffing model to meet the needs of the units; be competent in all nursing areas, be familiar with all equipment utilized at the ASC. . The ASC Manager shall have the ability to provide care to the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The ASC l manager will develop and oversee capital and operational budgets in conjunction with the Director of Surgical Services.

+ QUALIFICATIONS:

+ EDUCATION:

+ Minimum:

+ Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program

+ Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing

+ Preferred:

+ MSN or other graduate degree

+ LICENSE:

+ Minimum:

+ Current NYS License to practice as a Professional Registered Nurse

+ PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

+ Minimum:

+ CNOR or CNAMB Certification within 1 year

+ CASC required within 1 year

+ WORK EXPERIENCE:

+ Minimum:

+ Three (3) years of operating room nursing experience including minimum 2 year in ASC

+ Demonstrated leadership abilities

+ Endoscopy clinical and management experience required

+ SKILLS:

+ Minimum:

+ 3 years OR experience with 2 year in ASC in a supervisory role.

+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-entity, multi-cultural health system.

+ Ability to facilitate project management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.

+ Familiarity with JCAHO requirement, AORN,& ASPAN, recommendations.

+ Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills.

+ Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner.

+ Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets, power point

+ Member of AORN & APAN required.

+ Preferred:
