As a Turbomachinery Mechanic at Siemens Energy, you will be responsible for the disassembly, inspection, repair, and rebuild of turbomachinery, including steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, and other related equipment. Responsibilities

  • Disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly of steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, and other related equipment.
  • Safety is everyone's duty to work safely and report any unsafe conditions, near misses, and suggestions for improvement.
  • Work under direct guidance from experienced shop leadman and supervisor.
  • Use wrenches and hydraulic tooling as required.
  • Use precision measurement tools such as ID and OD micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators to dimensionally inspect components.
  • Use hand-held tablet devices to record visual inspection findings, dimensional data and measurements, and photographs.
  • Review bills of materials and manufacturing drawings to compile list of replacement parts.
  • Collaborate with repair engineer and project manager throughout inspections, repairs, and reassembly.
  • Review repair instructions and routers, and implement repairs.
  • Assemble equipment as needed per OEM drawings, specifications, and standards, documenting and photographing throughout.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED that can be verified
  • Medium sized toolbox on wheels, including hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers etc., up to 1 1/4"
  • Proven ability to interpret shop instructions and manufacturing drawings
  • Proven ability to read scales, micrometers
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment at the repair center
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform work with limited supervision
  • A positive, can-do demeanor, working well with others
  • Willing to learn and receive instruction
  • Able to take constructive feedback
  • Strong work ethic, pursuing excellence and a high-quality standard
  • Dependable, able to be at work promptly on time every day and communicate proactively when emergencies happen
  • Flexible to work overtime as needed (weekends and holidays may be occasionally required based on client schedules)
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization

Preferred

  • Minimum three (3) year experience in industrial mechanical repairs
  • Minimum three (3) year experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts
  • Minimum three (3) year experience in rigging with straps, chains, chain-falls, swivel eyes, etc.
  • Background in repair of reciprocating compressors, centrifugal compressors, and/or steam turbines

**Snapshot of Your Day**

Daily shift toolbox meeting,
covering safety, quality, general announcements, and distribution of work.
Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild turbomachinery. Work alongside a team
of mechanics, machinists, weld technicians, inspectors, engineers and project
managers to repair critical turbomachinery equipment! Customers include oil
refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, universities and hospitals.
Work daily under direct guidance from experienced shop leadman and supervisor.

**How You'll Make an Impact**

+ Primary responsibility includesdisassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair and assembly of steam turbines,centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, and other relatedequipment.
