Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Registration as a Licensed Mechanical Engineer.
  • A minimum of five years of specialized experience in mechanical and plumbing schematic design and design development.
  • Experience in evaluation of new and existing commercial facilities, industrial and health care facilities similar to the building types prevalent in the NAVFAC Northwest Area of Responsibility.
  • Good or master skills and experience in AUTOCAD.
  • Working knowledge and experience in design and reviewing of main Air and Water Side and steam Mechanical systems.
  • Ability to design DDC control systems including production of the sequences of operation, point lists and control diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of the latest UFCs, UFGS, NFPA, International Mechanical and Plumbing Codes.
  • Practical experience with construction site visits and ability to produce field progress reports as needed.
  • Engineering solutions to problems when requested by the Government.

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for a Mechanical Engineer (PE) to join the team in Silverdale, WA.


U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.


Pay rate: $170,000- $201,000 Based off of experience


SCOPE


Under this task order, the Contractor will independently provide support to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the execution of NAVFAC Northwest’s broad and diverse mission of facilitating execution of organizational functions and specific missions. This position will provide mechanical engineer labor support to various locations within the NAVFAC Northwest Area of Responsibility performing various tasks/services outlines below.


PLACE OF PERFORMANCE


Silverdale, WA


PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE


1st Year Ordering Period: October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025 with the option to exercise up to an additional six months of services in accordance with FAR 52.217-8


OPERATIONAL HOURS


TBD on a task order basis. Contract employees’ work schedules will be compatible with the Government’s operating hours at the office in which work is to be performed. Typically, work will be performed 40 hours per week during normal business hours (0630 – 1630), Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays


TASK/SERVICE


The Contractor shall provide the following services:


  • Mechanical engineering design and production support from project inception through construction.
  • Develop and execute projects with both Design-Bid-Build and Design Build delivery methods.
  • Provide technical leadership/mentorship to junior engineers/designers and review other mechanical engineers’ work for code compliance and constructability.
  • Estimate design efforts.
  • Provide technical expertise in negotiations with Architectural-Engineering firms and general contractors. Contractor does not have the scope of authority to negotiate/bind the Government to a contract.
  • Address contractor submittals and requests for information (RFIs).


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR OTHER EXPERTISE REQUIRED


Contractor employees performing services must meet the following requirements and have the licenses and/or certifications for each respective position:


  • Design and technical competence in developing and the production of complete Construction Documents, including drawings and specifications, for new and renovation projects. The Contractor shall be responsible for the professional quality, technical accuracy, and the coordination, including inter-discipline coordination, of all designs, drawings, specifications, and other services furnished by the Contractor under this contract.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Registration as a Licensed Mechanical Engineer. The license must be current and issued by a United States of America state, Commonwealth, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory. The Contractor will be in responsible charge of the engineering work they provide
  • A minimum of five years of specialized experience in mechanical and plumbing schematic design and design development, evaluation of new and existing commercial facilities, industrial and health care facilities similar to the building types prevalent in the NAVFAC Northwest Area of Responsibility.
