- May assist with snow removal and plowing, sanding and salting of roads, erection and removal of snow fences and signs, picking up trash, cutting grass, trimming trees and bushes, weeding, and may apply lawn care products as assigned, etc
- Operates motorized equipment as required in carrying out these assigned duties
- Performs related minor maintenance repair tasks indoors and outdoors

General Description
Niagara Falls Culinary Institute ( NFCI ) located in the heart of Niagara Falls is seeking a dedicated and reliable Laborer to join our team. As a Laborer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen in the Savor Restaurant, ensuring a smooth operation for our culinary students and staff. The work involves performing unskilled and semi-skilled manual work. The incumbent is responsible for washing dishes, large pots, pans and cambros; cleaning the kitchen area, utensils and equipment; and cleaning floors. The incumbent is expected to lift heavy objects such as large pots, pans, and cambros on a frequent basis. The incumbent may also be assigned cleaning tasks both indoors and outdoors to include parking lots, sidewalks, hallways, and rooms as well as routine repair tasks. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs and Faculty.
This position will provide a steady and consistent 40 hour work week with overtime opportunities. Effective September 1, 2024 the rate of pay will be increasing to $16.60 per hour.
Shifts will be 3:00pm -11pm on Saturday and 1:00pm - 9:00pm on Monday.
Typical Work Activities
1. Acts as a messenger and makes deliveries;

9. Operates motorized equipment as required in carrying out these assigned duties, may for training or in an emergency operate trucks and assigned vehicles within the New York State Motor Vehicle regulations;
10. Performs related minor maintenance repair tasks indoors and outdoors including, but not limited to, the repair of desks, cabinets, and painting walls and sports field lines.
