The Machine Operator at Precision Grinding & MFG Corp is responsible for operating automated or semi-automated machines and production processes in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Responsibilities
- Operation of automated or semi-automated machines and production processes in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Follow standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
- Become qualified to run all machines (bartelt, jaguars, autofills and liquid lines) to produce various contract packaging products in accordance with documented work instructions.
- Read and interpret work orders and/or machine diagrams.
- Maintain work center production quotas.
- Understand and apply quality product standards.
- Learn and maintain baseline knowledge of product scrap/defect issues.
- Keep accurate counts, package and label product.
- Assist Maintenance in set up of machine as needed.
- Train and develop new operators (higher levels).
- Make minor repairs and/or adjustments to machines with minimal/no supervision (higher levels).
Qualifications
Required
- High School diploma/GED.
- Experience as a machine operator in manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of food processing/packaging and/or flexible packaging a plus.
- Experience with ISO Standards preferred.
- Ability to understand specifications, manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment when inspecting parts acceptability for further operations.
- Proficient in basic math skills.
- Ability to read tape measure.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The entry opportunity for this position will be dependent on your experience and skill level and may range from Assistant Operator, Operator or Sr. Operator.

+ Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
+ Operators will be or become able to setup each machine for use.
