Amazon is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician for Project Kuiper, a mission to increase global broadband access through a constellation of satellites in low Earth orbit.   • Incorporate relevant technical literature into the understanding of system operation and coordinate efforts with other technicians involved in installing or maintaining equipment or components
  • Install, repair, adjust, and test equipment and components to ensure that systems function properly
  • Communicate with machine operators, and operate equipment to detect equipment problems, analyze malfunctions, and verify system problems
  • Observe and incorporate safety standards and regulations required for safe operation of the system

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 4+ years working experience with installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining electro-mechanical systems and devices
  • Willingness and ability to work with powered lift equipment (e.g., forklift or scissor lifts)
  • Valid Driver's license and able to satisfy Amazon driver eligibility criteria
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds on some occasions, stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours (with breaks), and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach

Preferred

  • Ability to Operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents such as blueprints, electrical, and diagrams to diagnose and repair electrical issues
  • Basic understanding of PLC systems
  • Ability to Test and repair pneumatic assemblies
  • Understanding of the technical specifications of mechatronic systems, subsystems, modules and components

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

We're looking for an outstanding Electro-mechanical maintenance technician specializing in Preventative Maintenance and Repairs on Electro-mechanical equipment and devices. This position will support out Solar array production equipment and be the main point of contact for equipment maintenance in that area.

Key job responsibilities

Export Control Requirement:

The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $37.00/hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure. Our team, Kuiper Equipment Group (KEG) is a highly skilled group of maintenance technicians that perform a variety of maintenance tasks and are involved in small and large scale projects for design and layout of lab space.

Basic Qualifications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,640/year in our lowest geographic market up to $83,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
