The Quality Director oversees the Quality team, including Quality Technicians and Quality Engineers, to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality products, minimize corporate and customer risks, and eliminate defects and waste in manufacturing processes. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement departmental strategies and visions to align with organizational, corporate, and regulatory goals.
  • Manage the full audit process (External and Internal) and serve as the primary contact for certification bodies and auditors.
  • Ensure compliance of the Quality Management System with customer, internal, AS/ISO, FAA, and regulatory/legal requirements.
  • Lead, manage, motivate, mentor, and evaluate the performance of Quality Department staff.
  • Collaborate with process owners to identify, assess, and mitigate QMS risks through KPI reviews and management cooperation. Oversee supplier quality assurance.
  • Review and improve Manufacturing Procedures (MPs) using lean manufacturing methods to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage the company's Corrective Action processes and ensure effective tracking and resolution.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of purchasing and manufacturing work orders through the quality department.
  • Represent the Quality Department in business processes, management reviews, and ongoing improvements.
  • Analyze data and make recommendations for equipment, process, and product enhancements.
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding quality requirements, approvals, performance trends, corrective actions, and quality surveys.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • 10 years of experience in quality leadership within electronics manufacturing, including PCB assembly, surface mount technology, and electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Strong strategic, interpersonal, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment, with strong prioritization and response capabilities.
  • Confidence in developing strategies to address complex customer issues.
  • Proficiency in analyzing, explaining, and solving problems independently.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Experience with lean Six Sigma concepts and processes (Green/Black Belt preferred).
  • Familiarity with Epicor software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, document, and execute detailed quality plans.
  • Strong skills in root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or at least ten years of experience in a manufacturing environment; a minimum of five years of Quality experience is required.

Preferred

  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in an electronic assembly/test environment is advantageous.

**Education and Experience:**
