About CxT: CxT Discovery—a non-profit focused research organization (FRO)—is launching drug-discovery campaigns against proteins central to human biology but neglected by industry and providing the chemical matter as a public good to assist the research community. About You: CxT is looking for a highly motivated, creative, and nimble biologist who will be at the core of our drug discovery programs—someone with a “startup” mindset and drive. You combine industry-level rigor and team focus with academia-level curiosity and independent thinking. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about drug discovery, scientific communication, and building a company for success.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute collaboratively to target nomination and scientific strategy
• Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize assays for small molecule screening
• Collaborate cross-functionally with biologists and chemists to drive hit finding and structure-activity-relationships (SAR) for drug discovery programs
• Communicate your science and engage with the scientific community to disseminate your results and tools
• Maintain detailed and organized records of experimental protocols and results
• Mentor research associates

Qualifications:

• Postdoc fellowship or PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience; or Master's with 12+ years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's with 14+ years of relevant industry experience in assay development and screening
• Keen analytical and problem-solving skills
• Technical expertise in molecular biology and cellular assay development
• Experience in small molecule profiling and assay funnel design
• Strong ability and interest in scientific communication and community building
• Collaborative, communicative, and flexible; eager to do whatever is needed to help the team succeed
• Unwavering integrity, accountability, transparency, and respect
• Deep passion and curiosity for biological discovery on path to novel therapeutics

Benefits and Compensation:

CxT provides a competitive benefits package that includes access to Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Short and Long Term Disability, Health Savings Account (HSA) and/or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), a retirement plan and DTO.

The anticipated salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role will be $90,000 – $120,000 annually (not including discretionary bonus and benefits). The final salary offered will be dependent on several factors that include but are not limited to relevant previous experience including duration and type of experience within the industry and education.
