  • Collaborate with data science teams to develop and implement machine learning models to enhance targeting, personalization, and campaign optimization.
  • Develop and implement robust MLOps processes to ensure seamless model deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
  • Utilize simulation models to predict platform performance and guide strategic decisions for future growth.
  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for the NextGen platform 2.0, aiming to achieve at least 2x growth in key metrics.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of highly skilled engineers, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
  • Collaborate and pairs with product team members to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions.
  • Document, review and ensure that all quality and change control standards are met.
  • Write custom code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and test cases.
  • Work with vendors and partners for the successful implementation of critical tooling and platforms.
  • Create meaningful dashboards, logging, alerting, and responses to ensure that issues are captured and addressed proactively.
  • Contribute to enterprise-wide tools to drive destructive testing, automation, and engineering empowerment.
  • Evaluate new technologies for adoption across the enterprise.
  • Participate in and lead review board sessions to drive consistency across the enterprise.
  • Fill in on product teams for engineers who are out of the office.
  • Field questions from engineers, product teams, or support teams.
  • Provide application support for software running in production.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for the engineers on the team.

Qualifications

Required

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Mastery of an object oriented programming language (preferably Java).

  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as GCP or AWS or Azure, including serverless computing, containerization, and microservices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Full Job Description

**Position Purpose:**

Orange Apron Media empowers brands to connect with our vast customer base, driving impactful marketing campaigns and generating substantial revenue. We are seeking a passionate and results-driven Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow our core platform, propelling us to the next level of success.

As a Software Engineer Manager, you will have the opportunity to drive product innovation and help grow the next generation of engineering talent.

In addition, you will be given the chance to grow your management experience by contributing to The Home Depot's Orange Apron Media strategy and roadmap.

**Key Focus areas:**  

**Growth & Innovation:**  Champion and lead growth initiatives, fostering a culture of experimentation and innovation. This includes:

30% Delivery & Execution:

+ Collaborates and pairs with product team members (UX, engineering, and product management) to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions

+ Documents, reviews and ensures that all quality and change control standards are met

+ Fosters collaboration with team members to drive consistency across product teams, and finds opportunities to expose engineers to career interests

+ Acts as a proponent of modern software development practices

+ Guides team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks within and across product teams

+ Participates in and contributes to learning activities around modern software design and development core practices (communities of practice)

10% Learning:

+ Learns, through reading, tutorials, and videos, new technologies and best practices being used within other technology organizations

**Direct Manager/Direct Reports:**

+ Typically reports to the Software Engineer Sr. Manager, Technology Director or Sr. Director.

**Travel Requirements:**

+ Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

**Physical Requirements:**

+ Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
