The Voice Technician at Prosum is responsible for installing and maintaining voice systems, including a multi-platform voice telephony system. Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain voice systems, including a multi-platform voice telephony system.
  • Troubleshoot problems reported by users and/or automated monitoring systems.
  • Provide assistance related to installations.
  • Perform moves, adds, and changes based on customer requests.
  • Program, install, move, and modify voice and related equipment according to job order specifications and company standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions such as dial tone trouble, inoperable phones, voicemail.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Provide technical and troubleshooting assistance to end users as required.
  • Communicate and escalate systems service issues to management to resolve quickly and efficiently.
  • Adhere to IT's processes and practices.
  • Assist in maintaining records or parts inventory for spare equipment.
  • Train users on voice systems operation and provide technical resource support as needed.
  • Recommend changes to improve systems configurations and determine hardware and software requirements related to those changes.
  • Attend vendor training workshops to gain proficiency in voice equipment servicing and stay informed of new developments and technologies.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years job specific experience
  • 5 years experience in telecommunications installation/maintenance
  • Background in LAN/WAN technologies. TCP/IP/QoS, PoE, VLANs, VoIP
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot network VOIP related issues
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and writing
  • Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends as needed

  • Associate’s degree

FTE Voice Technician, I

Salary Range: $33.00/hr - $37.00/hr (non-exempt)


Voice Technician

Summary:

The Voice Technician installs and maintains the Voice Systems. This individual will support and maintain a multi-platform

voice telephony system, ensuring its efficiency and security. The role will troubleshoot problems reported by users and/or by automated monitoring systems, provide assistance related to installations. This position will also perform moves, adds and changes, based on customer requests. This position will program, install, move, modify voice and related equipment according to job order specifications, company standards and procedures. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions such as dial tone trouble, inoperable phones, voicemail. Will need to be on the on-call rotation.


Minimum Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • 3 years job specific experience required
  • 5 years experience in telecommunications installation/maintenance required
