Brooksource is seeking a Cloud Developer for a long-term contract position that is 100% remote. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-based solutions using Azure Data Bricks, Python, and Spark.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
  • Implement data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration workflows to support business intelligence and analytics.
  • Lead application re-design projects, ensuring modern, efficient, and scalable architecture.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot existing data workflows and applications to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data solutions and application designs, including architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in cloud computing, data engineering, and application development.

Qualifications

Required

  • Proven experience as a Cloud Developer or similar role, with a focus on Azure Data Bricks, Python, and Spark.
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Bricks, including cluster management, notebook development, and job scheduling.
  • Experience with Apache Spark, including Spark SQL, DataFrames, and RDDs.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes, data integration techniques, and data pipeline orchestration tools.
  • Experience in application re-design, including modernizing legacy systems and implementing new architectures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages such as SQL, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries.

Our client provides cutting-edge technology and services within the Health Insurance industry. We are looking for a talented Cloud Developer to join our dynamic team and help us leverage Azure Data Bricks, Python, and Spark to drive our enterprise data initiatives focused on re-designing one of their top consumer systems.


Their legacy system is currently on Oracle, SQL, and some Mainframe. Familiarity with Mainframe work be necessary for success in this role. The bulk of the work in this role will be re-design and conversion from Oracle and SQL databases to their new technologies; Databricks, Spark, and Python.
