A Shift Engineer must have strong knowledge of buildings and their operation. This person will perform routine inspections on, maintain, and repair HVAC and plumbing components. They must have an understanding of electrical and mechanical systems to ensure they are in good working condition. This person must respond promptly and act to mitigate the impact from emergency situations such as power outages, plumbing leaks, and equipment failures. Additionally, they will monitor and maintain equipment such as boilers and chillers. Accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and work orders are critical to track history and plan for future needs. Other tasks will be assigned as needed. This person must be able to work a flexible schedule including morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight on any day of the week including weekends and holidays.
