The Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in various remote or clinic settings to serve specific population's health and/or wellness needs. Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process to review, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Evaluate a patient's health status, estimate the level of health risk, and provide feedback to motivate behavior change to reduce health risks.
  • Perform health screenings and make appropriate referrals when indicated.
  • Perform interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and Clinic policies and patient care outcome standards.
  • Provide a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment.
  • Initiate and evaluate patient and/or family education when appropriate.
  • Document patient's response to nursing and other interventions.
  • Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
  • Handle storage and transportation of necessary supplies including vaccines.
  • Administer vaccines or any necessary medications per protocols.
  • Handle and dispose of biological waste appropriately.
  • Help stock and maintain the cleanliness of the site/location where they are stationed.
  • Help set up and dismantle clinic sites in various settings.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse License in the state where they are practicing.
  • One year experience as an LPN/LVN in a clinic setting preferred.
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR if applicable.
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or statutory regulation).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate via strong communication skills in English.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Full Job Description

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the LicensedPractical/Vocational Nurse works in a variety of remote or clinic settings toserve a specific population's health and/or wellness needs. These variety of sites include but are notlimited to community or employment immunization clinics, wellness clinics, jobsafety and workers compensation sites and travel health clinics from pediatricto geriatric age populations.

The Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse demonstrates theability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner underthe supervision of an RN or Physician. The Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse demonstrates critical thinkingand performance ability in the coordination of patient care. Consistently performs according to nursingstandards and is accountable in providing safe, quality patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse utilizesthe nursing process to review plan, implement and evaluate patient care

+ Evaluates a patient's health status, estimates the level ofhealth risk and informs/provides s feedback to patients to motivate behaviorchange to reduce health risks

+ Performs health screenings and makes appropriate referralswhen indicated
